A WORDY REVOLUTION
1998 was a year of uncommon firsts. NASA found water on the moon, Japan opened the world’s largest suspension bridge, Bear Grylls became the youngest climber ever to scale Everest, France beat Brazil in the World Cup final… and a writer called Grant Butler founded a company called Editor Group.
A former senior journalist at The Australian Financial Review, Grant saw a gap for a quality business writing and editing firm that sat between the art and promotion of PR and the discipline and craft of journalism. He realised that companies and government departments needed to produce reams of documents each year – things like ads, articles, brochures, newsletters, reports, website copy and white papers – and that they often didn’t have the expert resources in house to do this … or to do it as well as they’d like.
So Editor Group was born, and so we’ve grown. Over the years, Editor Group has become Australia’s leading corporate writing firm.
Our clients include some of the world’s largest and best known companies – along with government departments and not-for-profit organisations. We’ve tackled literally thousands of projects – from small to mega – and we’ll do whatever it takes to keep our clients happy (while retaining our sense of humour).
We’re known for the exceptional quality of the work we produce, and for the intellectual rigour we apply to each job – whether that’s writing a piece from scratch, substantively editing a piece of work, or proofreading a document prior to print.
Oh, and why are we called Editor Group? While we do see editing as one of the most important services we provide, the real reason is that the company was founded as Editor.com in the heady days of the internet boom. Back then, we owned the editor.com domain name and being a dot-com seemed like a good idea. So did having a pool table. Now that we – and the internet – have grown up, it’s Editor Group.
